Think in Ink
We're building a modern, local-first Markdown editor that respects your privacy and enhances your writing experience.
Our Mission
In a world where cloud services dominate and privacy concerns grow, we believe in a different approach. Ink is built on the principle that your thoughts, notes, and documents belong to you—and only you.
We're creating a powerful, extensible Markdown editor that works entirely on your local machine. No servers, no accounts, no tracking. Just you and your words, with all the modern features you need to write, organize, and create.
Our Values
The principles that guide every decision we make
Privacy First
Your data stays on your device. We believe in local-first architecture and user privacy.
Open Source
Built in the open, by the community, for the community. Transparency and collaboration are our foundation.
Performance
Speed and efficiency matter. We optimize every detail to deliver the best writing experience.
User Focused
Every feature is designed with user needs in mind. Your feedback shapes our direction.
Why We Built Ink
The idea for Ink came from a simple frustration: existing Markdown editors either required cloud services, lacked essential features, or were too complex to use. We wanted something different—a tool that combines the simplicity of Markdown with modern features, all while keeping your data completely private.
We believe that the best writing tools get out of your way. They don't distract you with unnecessary features or force you to work in a specific way. They simply enhance your natural workflow, making it easier to capture, organize, and refine your thoughts.
Ink is our answer to this challenge. Built with modern web technologies like Tauri and React, it delivers native performance without sacrificing flexibility. The plugin system means you can extend it to fit your exact needs, and the local-first architecture ensures your data is always yours.
